Fingerprint - Discography

In honor of Bastille Day, i present you with a liberating experience. Hailing from a country smaller than Texas, Fingerprint were France's answer to the emotive hardcore explosion of the 90's, singing in a mix of english and french, they would prove alienation wasn't just a product of the good ol' U.S.A., instead a universal language, spoken around the globe. They called for tolerance in a time without, seeking their own definition of personal freedom, and all for good cause.
Across an ocean they made a minor impact with those in the know, cherishing what little of their output could be made available, yet in their home, created a scene that would continue and develop to this day. this Discography was released many years back, collecting their 2 out of print 7"s and multiple compilation appearances. Sadly from what i can see, this CD is now too out of print, so enjoy something inspiring for this day of French Independence. You won't be disappointed.

It seems like I've been lucky to grab one of the last their cds left in stock :)

Some of this guys played earlier in Undone. Another great french band, really worth checking now.

I posted this discography some time ago with different artwork so this one must be from one of their vinyl releases, am I right?

yeah, it's from their second 7". i've actually never seen the disco other than as a listing in distro catalogs. my friend jeff gave me a copy of the first 7" years ago as a birthday present and i picked up their second 7" last year on tour. i've had a copy of their discography for awhile now and love it, as i guess i already mentioned.
i'm not sure if you're familliar with vanilla, like jasemine they were the other ex-members of ivich and fingerprint. they too covered fingerprint ("liberation")on their first 7" (jasemine covered "choix").
i fucking LOVE vanilla.

Haven't heard Vanilla so far. All that I know about them is that they had a full-length on Genet.

If you have anything from them, I'd love to hear this.

Vanilla is amazing and 'Plays Fantastique' totally floored me yesterday. I haven't realized how great they were! Thanks!!!

I think you should make a post about them, they deserve to get much more attention than they seem to have!

Have been my favourite since I was 15 but lost my cassette when I was back at home like 5 years ago. Anyway, if you don't mind I included your excerpt in my blog about Fingerprint. thanks again!

No Finger Print/Jasemine members played in IVICH!!! Ivich were good friends and played some shows with F.P.
Jasemine was Finger Print without the F.P's singer.

my mistake. sorry for the confusion, as i said I'm from Oklahoma, and information on the french bands...a little scarce to say the least. for some reason i was under the impression jasemine had a member of ivich, i was wrong, doesn't take away from the sheer awesomeness of it all.

Nice to se that people still cares...
If you have any (even stupid!) questions, don't hesitate. I will reply. I'm tom, I played the bass in FP and Jasemine.
It's the right place to say that we've talked about a vinyl pressing of the discography.
After all these years, the FP drummer and I, we're still play in the same band. www.myspace.com/cherecatastropherocks

beside that, know that we are all still in contact. What we believed is still true to us.
